Texas A&M Hillel is excited to welcome Rabbi Daniel Aronson and Risa Bierman for the upcoming school year.

Rabbi Aronson will serve as Texas A&M Hillel’s interim rabbi and executive director. Rabbi Dan is an alumnus of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Additionally, Rabbi Dan has worked in a variety of Jewish communal settings as a rabbi, educator, and administrator, including several years as assistant director of the Brown University-Rhode Island School of Design Hillel. He has worked with congregations in Houston, Texas; Salem, Oregon; Richboro, Pennsylvania; and Wyncote, Pennsylvania. He currently lives in Houston with his wife, Dr. Beth Aronson, and their daughter, Katie. Rabbi Dan’s son, Jacob, lives and works in Richmond, VA.

Risa Bierman is Texas A&M Hillel’s new assistant director. Risa has lived in College Station for 22 years and has been actively involved in the local Jewish community. She has 25 years of experience working with college students at various institutions across the country, including nearly 20 years in student life at Texas A&M. She is excited to work with Jewish students at A&M and really make it feel like a welcoming place for them to go to college and grow. Her husband is a professor at Mays Business School and her two sons are in high school.

Our new leadership is working closely with our returning staff and the Texas A&M Hillel board of directors to ensure strong support for Jewish students and quality programming when school resumes in the fall.

Rabbi Dan and Risa encourage you to join them on campus and introduce yourselves this fall. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to them.
